Beware of SEO Company!

There are so many SEO companies in the internet. Some of them are really good at SEO but some of them are not! Those BAD SEO companies may play tricks to fool you. They would exaggerate their power of SEO and protect themselves by many unfair rules. So, beware of SEO company! Here is a list of tricks how they fool you.

Guarantee a #1 ranking on Search Engines

No one can guarantee your website can get #1 ranking in Google, Yahoo!. It is also warned you in Google. If a SEO company claims it guarantee your site in #1 ranking, you should beware of it!

BUT, some SEO companies would play some tricks to increase the possibility for getting #1 ranking. They would protect themselves by contract and terms which are hardly understand.

Tricks to Get Higher Ranking in Search Engines

Use exact phrase of keywords (e.g. “SEO company” )
When you use a double quote in Google search query, it will only display results which contain the exact phrase of the keyword. In this case, SEO company in Hong Kong and Professional seo company would be displayed but Hong Kong company in SEO and Professional SEO in Hong Kong company would be filtered. So, be wary they “quote your keyword”.

Use different location of search engines (e.g. seo company at google.com.hk / google.com )
If you are deal with SEO company, you should read the contract very carefully. SEO company claims your site can get higher ranking at google.com or google.com.hk?

Use search result filter (e.g. display website in Hong Kong only)
You can get #1 ranking in google.com.hk when the search result is filtered to display Hong Kong website only. Or you can get #1 too in google.com when display all tranditional chinese website only. Check your contract and terms before you pay.

Boost your ranking in SHORT TERM ONLY (e.g. duplicate content, keyword stuffing)
SEO company could boost your website to the top ranking by some SEO bad techniques which may harm your site ranking eventually. Those SEO companies use bad SEO techniques to boost your site ranking in order to get your money immediately. However, after a period of time, google may even ban your site!

Beware SEO company playing trick in contract. It should be specified which search engine is use for measuring the ranking.

How to do website promotion

Many people asked me how to do website promotion (free of charge is better). So I jot a list of actions you can take to do website promotion and detail of each item will be posted in the future.

Submit link of your website or article in your site to web directories. There are many free web directories but you should choose them wisely. Some free web directories may harm your website ranking! Choose web directories which have is highly related to your website is better.

Get an email list of potential clients is important. Then you can send them some interesting articles or newsletter to drive them to your website.
